Pros & Cons
- The Crossmax wheels are strong, reliable and use high-end technologies such as UST tubeless and an ID360 hub. This gives the wheels a very good value for money.
- The hubs are well sealed against water, mud and dirt, reducing the need to replace bearings.
- The Instant Drive 360 freewheel body has a 9-degree engagement, which means the wheelset is very responsive when you accelerate.
- The UST tubeless system has a tight connection between rim and tyre. This makes the setup perfectly airtight and can even be made tubeless with an ordinary bike pump.
- After registering the wheels on Mavic's website, the manufacturer's warranty is extended from 2 to 3 years.
- The Crossmax wheels are relatively heavy for an XC wheelset (1937 grams, 29"). With a higher-end MTB wheelset, you can gain quite a bit of weight so you can bring them up to speed more easily.
- The Mavic Crossmax is not available with Shimano MicroSpline fitting. However, an optional Mavic ID360 Shimano MicroSpline body is available.

Description
Description
The Mavic Crossmax MTB wheels are strong, reliable and durable. Add the tubeless UST system and you have an all-round wheelset that can handle anything. The Mavic Crossmax wheels have wide rims with an internal width of 25mm, giving you the ability to ride outer tubes from 46mm to 64mm (1.8" to 2.5"). This makes the wheels very stable and gives you more confidence on descents or muddy conditions.
The Mavic Crossmax is equipped with durable, well-sealed and adjustable Mavic QRM bearings. Dirt and moisture are less likely to corrode the bearings, improving their lifespan. The Crossmax wheels feel stiff and direct due to the 24 straight pull spokes at the front and rear. The Mavic Instant Drive 360 (ID360) hub has an engagement of only 9 degrees, meaning the Crossmax engages super fast the moment you apply power to your pedals. The ID360 body is typically used in Mavic's high-end wheels, which ensures that the Crossmax is excellent value for money.
(UST) Universal Tubeless Standard
The Mavic Crossmax mountain bike wheels can be made tubeless thanks to UST technology. This has numerous advantages such as reduced rolling resistance, increased riding comfort and improved grip. The main advantage of tubeless riding is that you can keep riding when you have a puncture. The liquid latex fills the hole in the tyre within seconds.
Mavic Care
With Mavic Care, you can extend the warranty to 3 years by registering your purchased wheelset on Mavic's website within 30 days. It also activates the crash replacement option, giving you up to 40% off a comparable product. You qualify for this if your wheel is beyond repair after a crash or collision.
MyMavic app
Through the MyMavic app (available in the App Store and via Google Play), you can get advice on the right tyre width and pressure to suit your rim width and surface.
Instant Drive 360
The new Instant Drive 360 freewheel body system is extremely light and has a ratchet system which engages at just 9 degrees! A large rubber seal ensures low friction and a properly closed hub. An oversized axle and hardened aluminium body save 40 grams.
Some 12-speed cassettes must be mounted on the 10/11-speed Shimano/SRAM body. These are the SRAM NX Eagle PG-1230 cassettes and almost all other 12-speed MTB cassettes with an 11 as smallest tooth. MTB cassettes with a 10 as smallest tooth need a special body. This is for Shimano a Micro-Spline body and for SRAM an XD body.
• Mavic Quick Release Adapter (no BOOST version)
• Tubeless rimtape
• Tubeless valve
• Replacement spokes
• Manual
